So I’m filling out New Patient forms before a doctor appointment. As usual, there’s a TON of duplication in what they ask for…
This used to drive me crazy (I hate inefficiency)…
But then I stopped caring and leaving things blank. After all, they just photocopied my insurance cards, why would I painstakingly transcribe the info onto the form just so someone can copy it into a computer.
So the front desk lady calls me back up…
”We need you to fill these out too”
And the form is highlighted on every blank I missed…
”You need me to write out the insurance info for the card you’re holding?”
”Yes.”
”and my birthday here, here, and here???”
”Yes (more snippy this time)”
So I stood there and filled in every blank…
But some of the blanks I didn’t know so I just wrote in things like ”same” or ”12345”
I handed it back to her, she looks it over, and was totally happy. 🤔
THIS is the type of ”box checking” mentality that drives me crazy. Businesses and people that excel take the time to smooth out experiences and cert WOW moments.
…but not the bad kind of wow moments like this one 😂
PS: I’ve been leaving things blank for years and this is the first office who ever looked. from Facebook
