This is my first post using Desk.pm.I’m excited about it because I do most of my writing AWAY from the internet. I write on the train, and I write totally unplugged from the distractions of the internets. But that can make getting around to publishing in WordPress a chore.
My old workflow
So far I’ve been using ByWord with great success. I love the clean interface, and writing in markdown is incredibly efficient once you get the hang of it.Once something was in ByWord I had to keep it organized in Dropbox so I wouldn’t lose or forget about it.And from there I’d eventually have to copy and paste it into WordPress (relying on the Jetpack Markdown plugin to convert it to html for me).It was a good workflow, but Desk.pm is going to take a lot of steps out of it for me – my favorite!
My new workflow
I’m writing this in Desk.pm. It’s an app that runs locally on my Mac and is basically just a very simple text editor – just my style.I’ve connected my blogs to it so when I’m finished I can publish it directly from here. Simple. Elegant. Productive. Thanks to John Saddington for pouring his heart and soul into making this a wonderful experience!
